Saturday, June 19th 9am – 3pmThe South Florida Science Center in partnership with Forgotten Soldiers Outreach, Wounded Veterans Relief Fund, and Project 425 is celebrating Veterans, Active Duty Military, First Responders, and Gold Star Families.
To salute our Hometown Heroes, we are opening 1 hour early and offering special activities like:
• Military vehicle demos and exploration
• Meet and greet with local armed forces
• K-9 training demonstrations
• Mini golf tournament & live science shows
• LIVE Robot Battle at 1:30pm
• A BBQ for Heroes and their families
• Dunk tank and carnival games
• And more!
Free admission for Heroes with valid ID and up to 4 guests. Advanced registration is required at SFSciencecenter.org/Heroes
Event opens to the public and members at 10am and is included with regular general admission. Nuts About Sugar will be open to sell lunch, snacks & refreshments to the public.
MINI GOLF TOURNAMENT sponsored by PBKC: This 2-some/4-some tournament will take place on the day of the event from 8:45am-Noon and is FREE for Heroes and their guests! Play a friendly round of mini golf on the Science Center's beautiful 18-hole Conservation Course and win prizes. Then stay and enjoy the event and BBQ afterward. All ages welcome! LIVE Robot Battles:
Calling all BattleBots Fans! Join us for a live battle at 1:30pm during the Hometown Heroes event. See the famous Witch Doctor bot up close and cheer for your favorites! This presentation is proudly presented by FingerTech Robotics and Witch Doctor Junior.

Haileigh Galloway has been singing since she was 4 years old; she has always had a passion for music and has had the privilege of singing at several events over the years. Now, at 18-years-old, she is a biomedical sciences major at UCF and will be a senior this coming fall.
11:40 AM - Army Recruiter Presentation (Amphitheater)
12:00 PM - Mini Golf Award Ceremony (Amphitheater)
1:00 PM - Science Demo: Barrel Explosion (Amphitheater)
2:30 PM - Science Demo: Liquid Nitrogen Explosion Grand Finale (Amphitheater)
