Intimidated by the idea of teaching high school level? Not sure how to navigate through to the goal of college, trade school, or employment? Need advice from those who are in the know?Our parent’s seminar on Homeschooling High School will be an opportunity for guidance, tips, and support. A panel of experts will discuss a variety of topics and there will be a Q&A portion
Room C at Oak Point Recreation Center. We have limited capacity so parents or guardians only please. $1 per attendee. RSVP BY 11/5/24.

Panelists
Nicole has graduated two of her three children from her homeschool. They both earned their homeschool high school diploma, in addition to their Associates degrees from the local community college upon graduation. Her first graduate has gone on to earn their dual Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and History with a focus in Economics. Her second child is currently studying English and Psychology and minoring in Secondary Education at a 4 year university. Her third child is is homeschooling for high school and is currently enrolled in dual credit courses at the local community college and will follow the path of their siblings, graduating high school with an Associates degree. Nicole has thrived as a homeschool educator while navigating the regulation of 4 different states due to her family’s relocations.
Kerri is a homeschooling mom to 3. Her two oldest are in their junior and senior years. her family has some health issues and are a neurospicy household– both things definitely influencing their homeschool life and plans!
Jessica is an adjunct professor of English and Education at Collin College and Dallas College. She primarily serves as a dual-credit professor and has taught several homeschooled students in her Composition and Learning Frameworks courses. She holds a Master’s in Education and a Bachelor’s in English, and she is working toward a Master’s in Literature.
Julia Andrews is a homeschooling mom of three. She was homeschooled herself from K-12 and went on to earn a B.S. in Animal Science from SHSU and the Assam Award in Honors Research for her research work in Equine Nutrition. She loves science/education, animals, bugs, and encouraging other homeschool moms.
Ellen will be giving an unschooling perspective of homeschooling a high schooler.
The panel will be moderated by Mary, a parent of twins in 6th grade.
