Home-schooling kids' workshop – Age 8-16 Basic floral design and skills training over an 8-week block, classes to take 1hr to 1.5hrsLesson 1 – how to prepare stems, basic cutting skills, flower care, importance of supporting local flower farmers – learning about different flowers and their seasons.
Lesson 2 – basic bouquet design including basic wrapping skills
Lesson 3 - Basic vase arrangement
Lesson 4 - Learning the process of drying out flowers for wreath making (wreath making in week 8 )
Lesson 5 - Dried/preserved flower mini bouquets.
Lesson 6 - Dried/preserved flower mini vase pieces.
Lesson 7 - (hopefully a field trip to a local flower farm to learn all about the hard work that goes into growing and caring for our flowers and environment) If this doesn't happen the children will get to help create a large installation piece.
Lesson 8 - Ending with creating our own dried wreaths from flowers we have sourced locally and dried naturally.
