About this Event

The Fredericksburg Area Museum (FAM) is pleased to announce their spring Homeschool Investigators programs. Homeschool Investigators focuses on hands-on learning through teamwork, collaboration, and problem-solving STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) activities. The schedule is as follows:

Dinosaur Discoveries (March 20th, 10am – 11:30am): Families will become paleontologists and explore FAM’s newest exhibit Stomp FXBC. Using their observation skills, students will study local fossils, compare dinosaur characteristics, make their own dinosaur track and much more! This program is designed for children ages 5 – 10 years old.

Journey with Lafayette (April 24th, 10am -11:30am): How did someone travel cross country two hundred years ago? In this program, families will be traveling with the Marquis de Lafayette on his grand tour. Students will investigate historic transportation including designing and testing their own boats. Be warned, the journey is not always a smooth one. This program is designed for children ages 8-12 years old.

FAM welcomes all children accompanied by an adult. Program tickets are $8. All attendees over the age of two must purchase a ticket. Please note the museum will only be open to ticketholders.
