Have you ever wondered why thunder always happens after lightning? Ever wondered how it can hail in the middle of the summer? This lesson features crafts and activities that take you right into the eye of the storm to learn about how fearsome Mother Nature can be.
Grades 1-3:

Dive into the Show-Me State waterways and learn about our native species, like the hellbender! This fully aquatic salamander's population has decreased by 70% since the 1990s, making them important to conserve and protect. Students will get the chance to test their knowledge during a nature walk where we will identify invasive vs. non-invasive species and the indicator species that tell the story of Missouri's waterways.
