Pre-registration is required for this eventCalling all homeschool explorers—get ready to see the world through “bird eyes!” In this hands-on program, we’ll learn how to spot and identify birds using clues like shape, size, color, song, and even behavior. We’ll turn the park into our outdoor classroom, using games and guided activities to help you become a bird ID pro. By the end, you’ll be able to recognize feathered friends wherever you go.
This program is recommended for homeschool students ages 8–12 and their families. Please meet at the Bluebird Barn at 9:00 AM. Be prepared to walk approximately 2 miles over both paved and unpaved surfaces. For more details about the route we will take, read the Essential Eligibility Criteria. The program includes a short introduction, a guided bird walk, and a fun identification challenge.
The cost of this program is $5 per participant.
Please come prepared with good walking shoes, sunscreen, and a water bottle. Bring binoculars if you have them—if not, we’ll have a few to share. Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals.
