Are you a poet? It takes a special talent to write and share poetry and we want to recognize that talent with an event in Lincoln. Nebraska State Poet Jewel Rodgers has been hosting events like this across Nebraska and she’s asked us to help put something together in Lincoln. The evening of Thursday August 13, we’ll host an event focused primarily on people reading their own poetry but also on some of the visual arts as well.
Homegrown is focused on making poetry feel as natural as a conversation while at the same time digging deep into our feelings as we hear local poets share their work. Jewel will join us for the evening, sharing some of her work and enjoying what local poets share as well. Let us know if you would like to share one of your poems at this event which will be at the Wellington Greens Clubhouse in East Lincoln. Click below to submit your name and the work you would like to share. We’ll decide on the poems to be shared by August 1 so you’ll have time to prepare.
