Keystone native plants are better with a plan and an understanding of how our local ecosystem should look. Did you know that native plants actually have a ranking order? The term “keystone” is just like the old way of building an arch, with the stone at the very top fitting in just right to hold the entire structure together. Jake Hartung, Arboriculture Design Specialist at FSU, will be discussing Doug Tallamy’s teachings on the relationship between plants, birds, caterpillars, butterflies, bees, and how to implement these practices in your landscape.
