About this Event
We are excited to invite all home-schooled children to join our new Home School Art Club! This monthly gathering is a wonderful opportunity for home-educated students to come together in a creative environment, share ideas, and develop their artistic skills.
What to Expect:
To start, we are hosting these sessions once a month, and we encourage participants to attend regularly. Each session will focus on a different art assignment, designed to build on the skills learned in previous workshops. By attending consistently, children will not only refine their techniques but also experience significant artistic growth over time.
This art club is more than just a series of workshops—it’s a space for home-schooled children to connect with like-minded peers, socialise, and collaborate on creative projects. We believe it's vital to foster an environment where children can express themselves freely and learn from one another while making lasting friendships.
This Month's Session: Sculpture with Air-Dry Clay
For this session, we will be diving into the hands-on world of sculpture with air-dry clay. Sculpture is a fantastic medium for young artists as it engages their tactile senses, enhances their fine motor skills, and encourages spatial thinking. Working with clay allows children to explore their creativity in three dimensions, helping them to better understand form, texture, and structure.
Lio, our skilled sculptor, will guide the children through essential techniques for working with clay. He will demonstrate how to create forms, add texture, and construct simple but expressive sculptures. Each child will have the freedom to work at their own pace and develop their unique style, whether they are crafting animals, abstract forms, or imaginative characters. Mathilde will assist by providing additional support, ensuring every child feels confident and inspired throughout the session.
Additional Information:
- Materials: All art supplies, including air-dry clay and tools, will be provided. We will also supply cardboard boxes so children can safely transport their sculptures home to dry and display.
- Instructors: The session will be hosted by Lio, with assistance from Mathilde.
Join us for this enriching experience, where creativity knows no bounds, and every child can explore the joy of making art in a supportive and inspiring community.
