Therapeutic Storytelling workshop inspired by the tale of Home Going by Yaa Gyasi. Participants will have an opportunity to process Black Americans reclaiming identity, personal growth, and healing as a global community. Participants, following discussion, will create and share their own individual mythic stories in breakout rooms; followed by a group effort to engage in the narrative creation of a hero's journey based on our collective identities with specific relation to topics relevant to Home Going.
This is a hybrid event. Partially filmed with an in-studio audience as well as stream lived to participants. A chat moderator will be on hand for Q&A segments within which virtual participants can engage with our in-person participants. Participants in-person must have read or listened to Home Going by Yaa Gyasi in order to engage in the event. Small reception following the event for in person registrants. At this time, in-person registration is limited to 20 persons. In-person registrants must email us at [email protected] to RSVP for your in person slot to be filmed in LA County. First come first serve. Virtual registration is unlimited.
Virtual registrants will receive the zoom link via email. We will also be going live here on the event page here on Facebook.
