St John's House Museum, Warwick | Warwick, EN
Meet our Victorian school ma'am Miss Roach and experience a Victorian lesson from 1888. Children will dress in basic costume over their own clothes, pinafores for the girls and sailor’s collars for the boys and role play as Victorian pupils in 1888. The lesson will include learning reading and arithmetic by rote, using a class abacus to do their sums.
Learn how the Victorians made Christmas pudding with Mrs Danvers the cook. Your group will help make the pudding but you will not be able to take it home. We make a Temperance, alcohol free, and nut free pudding. A full list of ingredients is supplied with your booking confirmation.
Meet the St John's gardener and learn about other Victorian Christmas traditions, including why we decorate our houses with greenery. Make a Christmas cornucopia. Share your ideas for decorating Queen Victoria's bloomers, sing carols and help to decorate the St John's Christmas tree before you go home.
Suitable for children aged five years and above.
Tickets £16 per child + Eventbrite fees. Younger siblings, welcome. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please book free tickets for younger siblings and adults.
