Explore the great outdoors through fun and stimulating activities at Potteric Carr nature reserve. Our friendly and inclusive home ed sessions are specially designed for children to learn with their parent/carer.

Children must always be accompanied by an adult.
What to bring/wear
Our home ed sessions take place outside throughout the year so brace yourself for the Yorkshire weather! Please wear appropriate outdoor footwear and clothing. June - September is mosquito season, so insect repellent might be handy during those months. On sunny days, don't forget your sun hat and sun lotion! Please bring plenty of fluids too.
Toilets and catering
Accessible toilets and baby changing facilities are located in our visitor centre (10-15 minutes walk from the event location). Wholesome lunches and homemade cakes are available in our welcoming café, located in our visitor centre.
Joining us on the day
The meeting point for this event is the Education centre. Please ask for directions when you arrive at the visitor centre and allow 15 minutes extra on your arrival time to get there.
Parking
Free parking is available at Potteric Carr nature reserve.
Covid-19 secure
If you have tested positive or think you may have Covid-19 we ask you to stay at home. Please contact Supporter Services if this is the case and your booking will be refunded. Visit our events Covid-19 page for more details.
Additional information
Admission charge to Potteric Carr nature reserve is not included within the event price. If you would like to explore the reserve after the event, please see our website for further details on admission charges. Yorkshire Wildlife Trust members can visit Potteric Carr nature reserve free of charge. You can join as a member online today or at Potteric Carr visitor centre.
