Who is this 2 Day module for?- Professionals supporting migrants, people whose ancestors migrated or were Indigenous Australians (actually, anyone in this country :)).
- Anyone who is interested in the process of migration, colonisation, finding their place, their connection to land, their relationship to the country of (family) origine and the country of residence.
Some of the topics we will cover:
- What do I call home? Finding my place.
- Country and society. The balance between taking and giving.
- Migration: my land, the lands of my parents. Exploring possible loyalties to what was left behind.
- In what country do I have the most strength?
- Aspects to take into account in the process of migration. Types of migration.
- History matters. Introducing bigger forces in the picture: war, colonisation.
- Colonisation, Truth, Restoration.
- Houses and inheritances.
What you will take with you:
- A deeper connection to land, to the countries of my ancestors.
- An understanding of the need for balance in taking and giving between me and my countries.
- Insights into the role of migration in my family system’s wellbeing.
- Identification of my own family patterns and loyalties.
- Somatic experience of my relationship to Country and what is needed from me to thrive.
- Exposure to the field.
Methodology:
- We will learn through very diverse activities:
- Theory, archetypal constellations.
- Practical exercises in small groups and feedback.
- Attendance to an open workshop, holding space, representation, Q&A after the workshop.
