In that case, you may be interested to know that there are down payment assistance (DAP) programs such as Edina's ComeHome2Edina Program, Eden Prairie First Time Homebuyer Program, Woodbury's Home Buyer program, Dakota County First-Time Homebuyer, and Minnesota Housing Finance Agency(buy a home with only $1000 of your own money)- which is available for first-time AND repeat buyers, statewide. Grants, loans, and tax credit programs might be available, too, subject to funding and program parameters.

If you had a life event that resulted in poor credit, bankruptcy, foreclosure, divorce, unemployment, or other credit challenges, there is no better time to start rebuilding your credit. Life happens; you can re-establish yourself and become a homeowner in just a few years. Plus, the minimum requirements for the above programs may not be as challenging to meet as you might think. With a larger down payment, we may be able to overcome your life event now.

FREE First-Time Homebuyer Seminars IN PERSON or ONLINE

We will have TWO IN-PERSON seminars on Saturday, April 18th, 2026, from 10-12 and 1-3 pm. Both in-person classes are on the same day and will be at The Graduate by Hilton Hotel- just minutes from Coffman Union at the U of M.
