About this Event
Dear all,
We warmly invite you to participate in the Holy Week retreat at the Shalom Catholic Community in Williamsburg. This sacred time offers us an opportunity to deepen our faith and embrace the transformative power of God through the death and resurrection of His beloved Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord.
In this Jubilee year marking the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi, we will celebrate these holy days, of the Holy Week, inspired by his love for Christ. The talks and some of the prayers will be deeply inspired by Franciscan spirituality.
As we approach this profound season, we recall the words of the Apostle Paul: "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Holy Week stands as the pinnacle of our faith, marked by the most solemn liturgies and an abundance of grace. The Holy Week retreat is a precious opportunity to immerse ourselves in the most sacred of all mysteries: Christ dies and resurrects to save us, to give us life!
Let us come together to experience the fullness of Christ's love and the hope that does not disappoint. Please review the retreat schedule and join us in embracing every moment of this holy season.
"It is a time for deepening our knowledge and love of the Lord, for examining our hearts and our lives, as well as refocusing our gaze on Jesus and his love for us." (Pope Leo XIV)
