Join us for Holy Week at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church - a powerful time for reflection and contemplation as we recall the final days of Jesus Christ's life, death, and resurrection.
One of the most important aspects of Holy Week is the Triduum, which consists of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday. While each of these days is significant on its own, they are all part of one long liturgy that culminates in the celebration of Easter Sunday.
During the Triduum, we gather together to participate in various liturgical ceremonies that help us to remember and reflect on the events of Christ's passion and death. From the washing of the feet on Holy Thursday to the veneration of the cross on Good Friday, each ritual is designed to help us deepen our understanding of Christ's sacrifice and our own call to discipleship.
As we move from Holy Thursday to Good Friday and finally to Holy Saturday, we are reminded that even in the midst of death, darkness and despair, there is always hope. And on Easter Sunday, we celebrate the triumph of life over death, of light over darkness.
