An evening of BBQ, Games, and Fun supporting Women at the Well.We are thrilled to announce our upcoming Holy Smokes Cookout, an evening of fellowship, food, and fun! Mark your calendars for Sunday, August 4, as we gather at Giovannetti Shelter (9000 Douglas Ave, Urbandale, IA). The meal will begin at 6 PM and will bring together Walnut Hills, Maple Grove, Grace, Walnut Hills, Valley, Windsor, New Hope, Aldersgate, Women at the Well and Immanuel.
Holy Smokes is not just any cookout—it’s a BBQ competition and a potluck extravaganza! Each participating church is encouraged to have at least one BBQ contestant. Whether you’re a grill master or just love good food, there’s a place for you. If you’d like to be a part of the BBQ competition, please let me know.
For the potluck, everyone is invited to bring a side dish or dessert to share.

Bring your own table service.
Beverages will be provided.
Each church is asked to bring at least one yard or table game.
The BBQ competition is a fundraiser for Women at the Well. To raise funds, we’ll be voting for the best BBQ by purchasing tickets ($1 each), with proceeds going to this wonderful cause. No purchase is necessary to join in the festivities, but tickets must be purchased to vote for your favorite BBQ dish. Prizes include a golden spatula for first place and a silver spoon for second.
