About this Event
You’re Invited! To a special collaboration between Working Girls Press, Stay Gold Books, SWOP Pittsburgh and the When We’re Not Hustling podcast. To celebrate the launch of The Holy Hour, debut publication of Working Girls Press, we're putting together an evening of readings, conversation, and a live episode taping of the When We're Not Hustling podcast, hosted by Pittsburgh's own Jessie Sage. Guests will include Molly B. Simmons, co-founder of Working Girls Press, Adrie Rose, musical guests Benjamin J Benamati and Emily Foster, and more! Join us for an in-depth look at some of the incredible pieces in the anthology, an interactive conversation about sex work, magic, and the divine, plus an after party where you can get your book signed and get to know some of the countributors. We can't wait to see you there!
After party to follow!
Free entry, cash bar, or purchase a VIP ticket to reserve a signed copy of the book, Working Girls Press swag, and a drink ticket!
Working Girls Press was founded in 2023 by Molly B. Simmons and Emily Marie Passos Duffy with the mission to uplift and promote sex worker writers and artists. Their press is committed to collaborative and collectivist publishing practices.
When We're Not Hustling, hosted by Jessie Sage and produced by Emily Foster, is a weekly podcast that explores the lives and identities of sex workers outside our personas. Each episode features a long-form interview with a sex worker, where we talk about everything but work: personal philosophies, ambitions, family, relationships, passions, hobbies, mental and physical health, identity, spirituality, meaning-making, and more. On this show, we learn who sex workers are outside of the work they are known for. WWNH explores the people behind the fantasies.
Sex Workers Outreach Project Pittsburgh (SWOP Pgh) connects sex workers to social services, facilitates community education, and administers a cash mutual aid fund to support sex workers. Founded in 2018, we are part of the national SWOP, a US-wide social justice network focusing on ending the violence and stigma associated with sex work through education and advocacy.
Stay Gold Books is a family-run independent bookstore for all that supports self-development and expression, brings people together, and preserves Pittsburgh’s long-standing and developing history as a literary city.
