Originated by psychiatrist and pioneer in psychedelics and consciousness research, Stanislav Grof, MD, PhD and Christina Grof, PhD., Holotropic Breathwork is a powerful means toward transformation, guided by the intrinsic healing wisdom of the psyche. This process allows an individual the opportunity to build a relationship with their inner healer for the development of an empowering approach to their own personal healing. Working in collaboration with mind, body, and spirit, this inner healing mechanism brings to the surface that which may need healing for the purpose of releasing what may be causing resistance, blockage, or a continuation of self-defeating patterns in our lives, integrating material that has led to fragmentation and disconnection, and/or allowing a more connected and communicative relationship to the Sacred. Holotropic Breathwork utilizes the breath and evocative music to support our work in expanded states of consciousness, allowing that which needs healing to emerge in a safe and effective way. This process can assist an individual in exploring the vast territory of the psyche, with experiences spanning a broad range. Each session is personal to the individual, and no session seems to be the same. Participants report deep healing of many aspects of their being, including relational patterns and trauma, somatic release, an opening of the heart, a deepening in respect and capacity for the emotional world, and a new relationship with both self and Spirit.
This work is done in dyads. Each participant will breathe for one session and sit for their partner for one session.
Contraindications: Holotropic Breathwork opens the door to a wide range of physical, emotional, and spiritual experiences, which cannot be predicted in advance. The process can evoke strong emotional and physical stress and can put people with the following conditions at risk. These conditions include pregnancy, serious heart conditions, epilepsy, glaucoma, retinal detachment, history of severe mental or emotional disorders, acute infectious disease and recent injury or surgery.
A completed medical form and waiver are required for attendance!
Friday: 7pm-9pm Introductory Talk and Opening Group and Saturday: 9am-7pm Breathwork Sessions, Art Integration, Share Groups and Integration Talk
Sunday (optional): Integration Session10-Noon venue TBD
Cost: Total cost of the workshop is $275
Refund Policy: unused payments may be used as credit for another workshop in the future.
