Holokū Ball 2026

This year, the Hawaiian Civic Club of Honolulu (HCCH) celebrates the 108th Anniversary of its founding by Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole. Since 1928, the Holokū Ball has been our signature event, with proceeds used to fund post-secondary scholarships, empowering Native Hawaiians to pursue their educational aspirations.

The upcoming Holokū Ball will be held in Waikīkī at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, Monarch Ballroom, on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026 from 5pm-9pm. The theme of this years Holokū Ball is “Ka lama kū o ka noʻeau – the standing torch of wisdom.” We are honored to recognize distinguished organizations and leaders who perpetuate the enduring legacy of Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole.

Our honorees include the Royal Order of Kamehameha I – Chapter One, whose stewardship reflects the legacy Prince Kūhiō helped to reestablish and sustain; Kali Watson, Director of the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands, whose leadership advances Kūhiō’s vision of ʻāina hoʻihoʻi and self-determination for Native Hawaiian beneficiaries; and Kūhiō Lewis of the Hawaiian Civic Club of Honolulu, who carries forward the civic club movement founded by Prince Kūhiō to uplift the social, economic, and cultural well-being of Native Hawaiians.

For more than ninety years, HCCH has awarded more than $1.3 Million Dollars in scholarships to more than 2,000 students of Hawaiian ancestry in pursuit of their educational goals, thus elevating the cultural identity and improving the economic welfare of Native Hawaiians.
