Entry is free for under 16s.
The first two floors of the Civic host our open art exhibition, featuring paintings, ceramics, textiles, photography, sculpture, jewellery and more from hundreds of different artists. The top floor is dedicated to our featured artists - this year we have Becca Brown (ceramics), Anna Cook (papercutting), Thomas Petit (glassblowing), Joy Rooney (printmaking & textiles), Paul Smith (sculpture) and Karen Wicks (printing).
On the stage of the first floor you will find a variety of artists throughout the week demonstrating their skills, and on the stage of the second floor you will find a market of smaller works, cards and prints, which can be bought and taken away immediately (a great place to shop for unique gifts).
We also have a café on the ground floor in case you need a break for lunch or coffee and cake, and Monday - Friday we will be hosting workshops here during the evenings.
As a fundraising event, all work in Artweek is for sale, with a minimum 20% of each sale going to our charities - the Kirkwood and Macmillan Cancer Support, with the remaining amount going to the artist.
The majority of the Civic has disabled access, but we're afraid there is currently no disabled access to the demonstrators' stage on the first floor.
We do not allow dogs in the main exhibition (other than assistance dogs).
Work bought from the main exhibition must remain on display until close at 5pm on Saturday 11th July. Buyers can collect their purchases between 5pm - 9pm on Saturday 11th July.
Along with the main exhibition, we also have 50 Fringe venues hosting their own exhibitions around Holmfirth and the surrounding areas during the week.
Keep an eye out for our free Artweek Guide which will soon be popping up in businesses and venues around Holmfirth and the surrounding areas, giving full details of the main exhibition and Fringe venues.
