HOLLY MIRANDA
Holly Miranda, a versatile creator known for her roles as a songwriter, music producer, and video maker, immerses herself in a realm of abstract imagery and dynamic soundscapes. Originally hailing from Detroit and Nashville, she emerged onto the New York music scene in the late 90s.
After co-founding The Jealous Girlfriends, Holly collaborated with acclaimed producers such as John Angello, Dan Long, and notably, Dave Sitek, who produced her debut album "The Magicians Private Library." Released in 2010, the album garnered considerable praise. Subsequent projects, including her self-titled solo album and "Mutual Horse," showcased her evolving artistry and collaborative spirit.
In 2021, Holly teamed up with Ambrosia Parsley to launch Eye Knee Records, a platform dedicated to fostering innovative musical expression. Together, they released Holly's own record, "Virtual Funeral," alongside works from other talented artists.
Holly's performances have graced the stage alongside iconic figures like Lou Reed, Karen O, Kelis, and Lesley Gore, among others. She's collaborated with a plethora of talented artists, including Theophilus London, Fischer Spooner, Erol Alken for Beyond The Wizards Sleeve and CREEP. Additionally, Holly is an integral part of several musical ensembles, including Maxwell Miranda Parsley, The Righteous Babes, and Sugar for Sugar, where her contributions resonate as a vital component of their collective sound.
Beyond her musical endeavors, Holly is actively engaged in philanthropy, championing causes such as Abortion Access Front and The Trevor Project. Her artistic talents transcend music, as she also explores visual art, crafting unique pieces like Acid Chess Tables and glow-in-the-dark pyramids, which enrich her diverse creative portfolio.
Additionally, collaborating with Gracie Coates, Holly embarked on event hosting under the banner of Golly Presents, spotlighting emerging talents amid the scenic backdrop of the Catskill Mountains in Upstate New York. Their creative endeavors expanded in 2023 with the establishment of Graveside Variety, a cabaret pop-up in the heart of Woodstock, NY. GRACIE COATES
Gracie Coates is one half of the New York based piano-violin duo, Gracie and Rachel, who has emerged as a formidable force in challenging the boundaries of pop music through baroque, ethereal sonic-scapes and penetrating vulnerability. Gracie and Rachel’s last two records, and , were released on Ani DiFranco’s Righteous Babe Records, with their debut album making NPR’s Top Ten Albums of the Year. Gracie and her band have performed two NPR Tiny Desk Concerts and recently toured nationally with Tori Amos, Ani DiFranco, Julien Baker, and more. Coates, the lead lyricist of the group, centers her songwriting around themes of anxious introspection, vulnerability, and self-empowerment.
