Holly Davey will be in conversation with Ruth Bretherick (Research and Public Engagement Curator, Fruitmarket) and Fiona Bradley (Fruitmarket Director) about her exhibition The Unforgetting. Driven by archival research, this exhibition celebrates the women who have exhibited at Fruitmarket over its 50-year history. Davey gives attention to the uncatalogued fringes of the archive, finding creativity hidden within boxes marked ‘misc.’ Her discoveries become the threads that weave together into an exhibition that gives space to women artists, through sculpture, text and voice.
The event includes a reading by Jill Smith, the first woman to show at Fruitmarket, of the audio work which is at the heart of The Unforgetting.
