About this Event

Do you love talking to people about science? Want to feel more confident presenting and sharing your enthusiasm?

Join the Ri for a fun, interactive introduction to science communication.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll build confidence and learn practical skills for explaining scientific ideas clearly and creatively.

Using over 200 years of Ri history, you’ll learn how to present a live science demonstration, discover how to break down complex ideas into simple explanations, and practice engaging an audience with confidence.

We’ll also look at some of the tricky and chaotic moments that can happen during live experiments, and how to stay calm and think on your feet if things don’t go exactly to plan.

For young people who have just completed Years 10, 11, 12 and 13 this term - please book based on their current/most recent school year, not their new year group from September. This typically corresponds to children aged around 14-18 years old. We reserve the right to refund or deny entry to those who are not in the correct year group.

Refunds can only be issued for tickets cancelled at least two weeks (14 calendar days) in advance of the event date. Please note that this supersedes our normal event terms and conditions.
