We are hosting a traditional British afternoon tea.
About this Event
We are excited to bring back our British Afternoon Tea with a Holiday flair. We are offering afternoon tea over three seatings, as well as Tea Box To Go option.
Tea 1 11:30am to 12:30 pm
Tea 2 1:00pm to 2:00pm
Tea 3 2:30pm to 3:30p
Y ou will be required to vacate your seat within each designated hour, to allow us to set up for the next one.
Menu (may be subject to change)
- Sandwiches: egg salad, cucumber, coronation chicken
- Sausage roll
- Butterfly cake
- Fruit tartlet
- Shortbread
- Scone with jam
- Chocolate candy
Plus as much tea as you can drink!
There will be NO tea tickets for sale at the door.

FAQs
Sit-down Tea Tickets
Q. When do the sit-down tea tickets go on sale? A. Online sales of the tea tickets begin October 30, 2024, and end on November 30, 2024. Online fees apply. No refunds.
Q: What are the times for the three sit-down teas? A: Seating for the teas is at 11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. Each tea will accommodate 40 guests and last for 60 minutes.
Q. Can I purchase a sit-down tea ticket at the door? A: No, all tickets for the sit-down tea must be purchased in advance online through Eventbrite.
Q: How much is the sit-down tea? A: The tea is $35.00. Tickets purchased online will be assessed a fee.
Q: Are seats assigned for each sit-down tea? A. No, ticketholders will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis a few minutes prior to the start of each tea.
Q: What is included in the sit-down tea? A: The tea may include egg salad and cucumber sandwiches, coronation chicken, sausage roll, shortbread, butterfly cake, scone & jam, fresh fruit tart, chocolate, and cups of tea.
Q: What if I have a food allergy? A: Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate any special requirements at this time.
Q. What's the refund policy? A. Due to the nature and timing of this event, there will be no refunds. (We can't return food we have prepared/baked)
Q. Do I have to bring my printed sit-down tea ticket to the event? A. No, you do not have to bring your printed sit-down tea ticket to the event. Your name will appear on a reservation sheet that we will use to check you in.
Q. Is my sit-down tea ticket transferrable? A. Yes, you may give your sit-down tea ticket to someone else. Please make sure the new ticketholder knows the name of the person who bought the ticket.
Q. Is it ok if the name on my sit-down tea ticket doesn't match the person who attends? A. Yes, please make sure the new ticketholder knows the name of the person who bought the ticket.

Q: Where can I park? A: There are plenty of parking spots at St Gabriel's Church parking lot.

Q: How soon do the doors open? A: Doors will open at 11:15am. First tea seating will be at 11:30am
Q: Is this a fundraising event? A: The Holiday Tea is a fundraising event for the Daughters of the British Empire. Proceeds go to the British Home and local charities. All volunteers and baking done by members.
Q: Are pets allowed? A: Only service dogs are allowed.
Q. Who is DBE? A. Daughters of the British Empire in Oregon is part of a national society, Daughters of the British Empire in the USA (DBE), a nonprofit, nonpolitical voluntary society of women of British or British Commonwealth birth or ancestry, who reside in the United States of America. DBE in Oregon, Inc. covers the Greater Portland area. Five chapters meet in and around Portland, Aloha, Beaverton, Clackamas, Tigard, and Scappose. Members at Large are all over the State.
