The Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center's Holiday Sleepover event is designed with the belief that no one (two or four legs) should ever have to spend the Holidays alone. No experience is needed! No registration is required.
The shelterβs Sleepover program allows participants to take a shelter dog home for an extended weekend sleepover and is a fantastic opportunity for our dog to spend the Holidays out of the kennels and in a loving home.

A few Sleepover tips to help you navigate this exciting day!
1) This is a first come, first serve event.
2) Plan for larger than normal crowds and please be patient with staff and volunteers, as we work with each host family to ensure the best possible match is made for all.
3) Do your homework!! Having a list of multiple dogs that you are interested in meeting will help expedite the check in process.
4) All available dogs can be found on our website, with real-time updates. Check out available dogs by visiting https://dogadoptions.franklincountyohio.gov/
5) If you have a particular dog in mind, it's advisable to arrive as early as possible to increase your chances of securing your first choice. However, if the dog you had your eye on is already on a sleepover (YAY!), don't panic.
6) Our experienced match makers (aka adoption counselors) will guide you through every step of the way for a smooth Sleepover experience and to ensure that the perfect match is found for your home.
7) For their own safety and comfort, owned pets will not be permitted inside of the shelter. If you need to bring your dog along for a meet and greet, please bring a friend or family member who can stay with your dog on leash while you are inside.
8.) No appointments are needed. No pre-registration is necessary. Walk-ins only!!
