The Hickories was built 1894 – 1896 for the family of Arthur Garford, when the population of Elyria was approximately 6,000 and Washington Avenue was an unpaved roadway. Garford, inventor of the padded bicycle seat, was involved in many business ventures and community service.
Due to the historic architecture of the building, there is no elevator in The Hickories and stairs are required. Strollers, large bags, food, and beverages are not permitted inside the museum during events.
Join us for this afternoon of festive fun and holiday cheer!
