HOLIDAY LIGHT PARADE CELEBRATING SANTA CLAUS COMING TO TOWN FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 28, 2025
We continue to celebrate the arrival of Santa Claus with our beloved annual parade and festival! This exciting tradition is based on a 25-year partnership between the Watertown Parks & Recreation and Watertown Fire Department.
LOCATIONS: WATERTOWN FIRE DEPARTMENT, 935 MAIN STREET
GAZEBO – CORNER OF ROUTES 6 & 63
DATE: FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 28, 2025
TIME: 4:00 PM- MEET ON DEPOT STREET
4:45 PM- PARADE STARTS
5:30 PM- TREE LIGHTING
For 2025, Santa’s “escort” Parade will once again be a fully illuminated Light Parade, and this year’s special theme is “Winter Wonderland… with a Twist: Elf on the Shelf!” We’re encouraging participants to incorporate “Elf on the Shelf” characters and scenes into their float designs, costumes, or group choreography. From mischievous elf antics to creative holiday setups, we can’t wait to see how you bring this magical theme to life — and don’t forget the lights! All participants must include lighting in their parade entry.
The parade will be led by special holiday characters and is open to:
• Children & families
• School and private music groups
• Theatre & performance groups
• Civic organizations
• Churches
In keeping with tradition, Santa Claus will bring up the rear of the parade! The parade will travel down Main Street from the
Fire Department to the Watertown Gazebo, where the celebration will continue with
a festive holiday gathering:
• Dessert & Hot Cocoa courtesy of the Watertown Fire Department
• Tree Lighting
• Family-made ornaments for the official Town Christmas Tree
• Face Painting
• Entertainment • And of course, Santa Claus himself!
We are also encouraging homes and businesses along the route to decorate with white lights and have them turned on during the event to create a true “Winter Wonderland” experience. There’s still time to get involved and be part of the fun! Email [email protected] to register your group or float.
