Woodbridge Flute Choir will be performing live again on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 3:00PM. The concert will be held at Greenwich Presbyterian Church in Nokesville, VA. We are very excited to present the World Premiere of Alexandra Molnar-Suhajda's new piece for flute choir and harp called "Refiner's Fire." The Woodbridge Flute Choir commissioned Alexandra Molnar-Suhajda to write this piece to celebrate our 25th anniversary.
The concert will also feature Helen Freeman, the winner of our 13th annual High School Concerto Scholarship Competition. Helen is a rising senior at West Springfield High School and studies flute with Aaron Goldman. She received a scholarship award of $500 to be used toward her music studies, and will perform Gabriel Faure’s "Fantasie" with the flute choir.
Other pieces that will be performed on the concert are "Autumn Vespers" and "Ukrainian Bell Carol" by Alexandra Molnar-Suhajda; "Charmingly Perfect Child" and "Silver Winds in the Night" by Jackson Berkey; "Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming" arranged by Todd Hayen; "God Rest ye Merry Gentlemen" arranged by Michael T. Turner; "Good Christian Men Rejoice" arranged by Steven Tung; and "Wexford Carol" arranged by Ann Cameron Pearce.
