Scratch foam printmaking is an easy technique for creating relief prints by pressing a design into a soft foam plate. After creating the design by depressing the foam with a tool like a ballpoint pen, ink is rolled onto the raised surfaces. Placing paper over the inked plate and applying pressure transfers the design, creating a reversed print. We will be gathering at the Community Art Hub on Friday December 12th from 6-8pm to learn how to carve our Scratch Foam to make custom printed cards or gift tags for this holiday season.
Registration required, as there is a 10 person maximum. Register by sending an e-transfer to [email protected] including the names of all participants. Registration is on a sliding scale between $15-$25, and if you need financial support to participate please email us, no disclosure required. We will update this Facebook Event when the registration is full.
This event is all ages, and we will provide all necessary materials.
Each participant will make between 4-7 pieces and receive a handout with the instructions to continue creating in the future.
