holiday book swap

Sonoran Sapphics is a queer social club where sapphic people find community through shared experiences in the Sonoran desert. This idea came from a desire to foster more queer joy in Tucson.

Like everything we do, you can expect a low-stakes space to have creative conversations and make new connections. No prior experience of any kind is needed and all queer people are welcome!

Please bring a wrapped book and write a hint about its contents on the outside—think genre, vibe, or a teaser (but no titles!). We'll combine the mystery of a "blind date with a book" with the fun of a gift exchange where you can pick or steal. Full details will be shared at the event—just bring your book and an open mind!

We're especially interested in sapphic/queer/trans stories from diverse authors. But, any book that you loved or think the community will love is perfect!

There will be an intro by founder Carly Croman to get things flowing, themed prompts to help you connect with new people throughout the event, and a few little seasonal treats.

Tickets
This event is by donation at the door, but you have to pinky promise you will do everything in your power to show up! We get it, it's so easy to bail after a long week. But we are dying to hang out with you <3

Plus, there's limited space so cancelling last minute is a major bummer. If something comes up and you want to release your ticket, email us and we will work it out so someone else can attend!

Suggested donation is $11 to power future offerings and make them as accessible as possible.

Cancelation Policy
Please double check your calendar. We have limited space and want to make sure as many people as possible can come hang! In the event you are no longer able to make it, you are welcome to give your ticket to a friend. Just send us an email with their name.

The physical and emotional safety of all attendees is the top priority.

• This is an event for ALL queer people. This event will center members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
• Face masks are always welcome, but not required. If you are feeling sick, please stay home.
