Holiday Book Swap

We are very excited to bring back the Silent Book Club Athens Holiday Book Swap for a fourth year! This event is free, although we are fundraising for Books For Keeps to support them during Giving Season! Please consider making a small monetary donation in addition to any books you swap to help us meet our fundraising goal.

What is it for? A book swap is a great way to rotate out the books in your home so you have something new to read, and your old books can find new readers to entertain and educate. Our event is also a book drive and fundraiser for Books For Keeps, a wonderful local nonprofit that advocates for literacy and access to books in our community.

How does it work? Books for Keeps is providing a selection of books to get the swap started. Bring your own books to add to the tables, and take home any that you find. All books left over after the swap will go into the Books For Keeps warehouse for use in community programs throughout the year.

Do I need to sign up in advance to attend? No, you don't need to sign up to attend - this event page is just a space to share info. However, if you do, it will help us estimate attendance and you'll get handy reminder emails!

Eat! Drink! The Foundry restaurant will be open with its restaurant menu and full bar.

DONATE! Books For Keeps staff and board members will be collecting optional but very appreciated monetary donations with an event goal of $500. Donations can be made in cash, by check, or on your phone through a QR code we will share. If you would like to learn more about this awesome organization, we would love to chat.

Silent Book Club Athens is a group created to bring together book lovers in the Athens, Georgia community. There is no assigned reading, no deadline to finish a book, and no required discussion. Bring your book of choice and enjoy reading in the company of others who appreciate and support reading too. Adults of all ages are welcome, and so are books of all genres and formats.
