The Waterloo Center for the Arts will kick off the holiday shopping season with its annual Holiday Arts Festival on Saturday and Sunday, November 9-10 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and admission is free.Those attending can view and purchase original artwork and handmade gift items from the finest Midwest artists working in mixed media, photography, painting, drawing, wood, glass, jewelry, metal, ceramics, fiber, and more. Artists from throughout the region will be participating. With every purchase, shoppers can enter a drawing for a chance to win great prizes like ten $100 gift certificates from Roth Jewelers or $300 in gift certificates from Petersen and Tietz and other local businesses.
Visitors may enjoy entertainment from Phil and Travis from the Cedar Valley Acoustic Guitar Association who will perform on Saturday, November 9th 12:30 – 2:00PM with a holiday-themed set! Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the event. Con Amor will be on site serving some delicious sweet treats and coffee goods on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00AM – 2:00PM. Bringing the Chi will serve some tasty lunch options on Saturday and Sunday from 11:00AM – 2:00PM. Visitors may also pick up a variety of mini pies from Try Pie at the Friends of the Art Center bar with beverage offerings including soft drinks, beer, wine and mimosas.
