Application Link: https://forms.gle/SJPUcN7CQiYW9zaC9"Holding Space" is a training village designed to prepare healing professionals, facilitators, therapists, death doulas, and compassionate individuals with the skills and experience for offering 1-on-1 emotional support. Whether you are an established practitioner or simply know that holding space is your soul’s calling, you’ll leave with a variety of tools and approaches to hold compassionate, effective, and empathetic space for others.
This training will didactically and experientially impart tools and teachings on how to emotionally and energetically support other humans. This two-month cohort consists of live demonstration, small-group practice, and diverse, creative classes designed to support participants in becoming more effective space-holders, and help others release Grief.
Participants can expect to gain: proficiency in empathetic listening, tools for role-playing, and techniques (as well as songs!) for emotional discharge. Because we will be working with each other, participants will also receive abundant space for their own healing, release, and transformation.
The course will be taught by Josh Fox (he/him) in Weaverville, NC. The course will take place over eight Wednesday evenings in March and April from 6:30-9pm. This is a total of 20 hours of in-person training. We will hold the ninth Wednesday in the event of inclement weather or other unchangeable circumstances.
For the sake of intimacy, focus, and safety, the training is limited to 20 participants and will likely sell out quickly. A few Limited Accessibility Scholarships & Worktrades (for BIPOC and need-based individuals) are currently available. Please reach out to Rosie at [email protected] for more support.

Ticket Tiers
Ticket sales are available in three tiers. Each tier has limited tickets and will disappear when they sell out. We strive to keep this program accessible while tending to the long-term sustainability of this work. Please help us strike this balance by contributing the highest ticket tier you can afford, and leaving less-expensive tickets for others who might need them more.
"Strained Finances" Tier 1: $495
"Stable Finances" Tier 2: $595
"Abundant Finances" Tier 3: $695
If you own the home you live in, have investments or inherited money, or travel recreationally, consider opting for Tier 3. You may also consider selecting Tier 3 if you benefit from a higher degree of earning power (due to your education, race, gender, etc.). Your generosity helps this work reach a greater diversity of individuals.
Refund Policy
50% of your ticket price can be refunded if a written request is made at least 30 days before the first class. Your ticket can be transferred to another individual if a written request is made at least 3 days before the first class. Otherwise, tickets are nonrefundable.

The Facilitator
Josh Fox is a seasoned facilitator, acupuncturist, teacher, herbalist, and song-carrier. For over a decade, he has held space as a grief-, shadow-, and trauma-tender in his private practice and regularly offers community healing circles throughout the Southeast. A graduate and long-time faculty of Daoist Traditions College of Oriental Medicine, he is a lifelong student of Chinese Medicine, somatic therapies, and Non-Violent Communication. His village-building work with Grief has been greatly inspired by Sobonfu Somé, Frances Weller, Joanna Macy, and Martin Prechtel; and he has received ceremonial training with Laurence Cole and Kedar Brown.

"This training has forever changed how I approach grief. It has provided so many resources for me to "be with" my own grief as well as those that I counsel. A completely unique offering to tend and nourish one another through heavy emotions, trauma, and stuck patterns in a way that upholds the humanity in us all. Absolutely life-changing way to work with grief and remove the layers that keep us in separation."

"This is what has been missing in our culture and community. Being able to sing, shout, scream, cry, etc with a village is life-changing."
