About this Event
"Holding Space for Play" marks the first-time collaboration between photographer Shannon Woodloe and singer Nadjah Nicole, as they continue developing new work supported by their Delaware Division of the Arts (DDOA) 2025 Individual Artist Fellowship in the Established category.
Wilmington audiences last experienced their solo projects with Nadjah’s 2023 sold-out concert A Night of Soul, and Shannon’s 2022 celebrated photo series Ode to Black Women. Now, they come together for the first time to offer a preview of their upcoming projects, both explorations of vulnerability, healing, and self-love through music and photography, respectively.
At its core, their goal for this event is about play: letting go, embracing joy, and creating space to be fully seen. Through song, image, and shared presence, "Holding Space for Play" invites audiences to reconnect with themselves — and with each other.
