Holden Off the Road: The Words That Shape Us

Join us for an evening of Liturgy, Community, and Conversation September 12 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, in Bellevue WA. Discover how the words and practices we share in worship act as powerful formation events that shape our lives and send us out into the world.
Using Holden Village as an inspiring guide, this presentation highlights how the community leads by example with women and queer clergy, creating inclusive liturgies like Holden Evening Prayer and Bless This Night.
Together, we will think critically about how liturgical language continuously evolves to foster a more expansive, welcoming community. Come for the learning, experience sacred space together, and enjoy ice cream and conversation.
Presented by Mark Griffith, Heather Griffith, Rachel Joy, and Steve Wolbrecht
6:00 p.m. Workshop
7:00 p.m. Bless This Night
7:30 p.m. Ice Cream & Conversation
