Created by the comedy collective Recent Cutbacks and directed by Kristin McCarthy Parker, Hold On To Your Butts is a live theatrical parody that recreates a famous dinosaur blockbuster through inventive staging, physical comedy, and Foley sound effects performed in real time.
65 million years ago, dinosaurs ruled the earth… 30 years ago, a movie about dinosaurs ruled the box office… This year, you are invited to… Hold On To Your Butts. Following its critically acclaimed West End and Off‑Broadway debuts, the smash hit show comes to Denver! Two actors and a Foley artist perform a live, shot‑for‑shot parody of the greatest dinosaur film of all time. A wildly inventive tour‑de‑force of comedy, physical theatre and live Foley.
Hold On To Your Butts is a comedy presented by DCPA Cabaret, a program of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. The production runs September 16–October 4, 2026, at the Garner Galleria Theatre in downtown’s Arts Complex.
