Edinburgh record label Hobbes Music brings its Summer Party to Summerhall, following a run of events at Bongo and Hidden Door. HM has released 14 vinyl EPs and 3 albums across a broad range of electronic music styles, with praise from an equally broad cross-section of international DJs and media (see below).

With his infectious energy, he is one of the most exciting electronic live acts label boss Hobbes has ever seen and his shows have been steadily growing in intensity, the most notable being his storming performance for June's Hidden Door festival. Exterior completely transformed the room: from half-empty to packed and climbing the walls.

GAMING‘s debut album, Scenes From A Deserted City', came out on 2×12″ (plus limited edition bonus CD) in late 2019, picking up plaudits from Mixmaster Morris, Levon Vincent, Laurent Garnier, Avalon Emerson, Leo Mas, Red Rack’em, Cedric Woo, Nightwave, Domenic and more.

He’s working on a follow-up with a more uptempo, dancefloor sound, as demonstrated via the Soundcloud link below.
He also performs completely live, using a full bank of equipment: sequencers, synths, fx etc, while generating his own live visual accompaniment on the fly from a laptop. It's quirky, funky dance music with bleeps, bloops and beats.

LEONIDAS & HOBBES have been making music together for more than ten years now (and DJing for much longer), getting props across the board – particularly for their last two EPs, which combine Balearic house, disco, techno and ambient sensibilities with motifs from the Far East, the Tropics, soundtrack music and dub.
Third EP 'Rags Of Time' – featuring lead track 'Web Of Intrigue' (below) – was voted RECORD OF THE YEAR (2017) by international DJs on Bill Brewster’s DJ History podcasts. The follow-up, 'Aranath', pulled in daytime and evening play on BBC6 music (Mary Anne Hobbs, Lauren Laverne’s Breakfast Show w/Nemone & Gideon Coe), with high praise all round.

SUZI CUNNINGHAM
"I am a dance and performance artist. I use improvisation, physical theatre and Butoh techniques in order to create gritty and often unpredictable performance. A central aspect of my work concerns deepening the connection with inner and outer life and believe dance and movement has an ancient connection to this. I am particularly interested in how the primal body meets the modern world. I design my own work, creating bespoke, site responsive work using textures, sound, imagery and sometimes even smells."
Suzi will be popping up throughout the night performing spontaneously and where you least expect it...

As well as Exterior's debut album, the label released a debut album from Tokyo’s Kota Motomura, ‘Pay it Forward’, earlier this year, and another debut album, 'Idle Animation', follows from brand new Scottish artist Maastricht Research at the end of summer (produced in Glasgow via Amsterdam and Dublin), with more releases to follow in Autumn.
