HKS Design Fellowship - Agency in Shared Spaces

The Design Fellowship is an annual exercise that brings together HKS designers to explore big ideas, stimulate new thinking, and enhance methodology.

This year, the HKS Global Design Fellowship tackled the issue of overcoming the top-down process in the design of shared and public spaces in the city of Dallas that has led to disproportionate agency over the design of the built environment. They explored how new architecture concepts can propel the collective rights of residents in a way that establishes a shared agency over the design of the public realm.
