Blush is a queer indie pop band redefining the sound of Toronto’s DIY scene. Formed in 2022 by four close friends—Lauren Beatty (vocals), Sandra Annan (guitar & vocals), Brooke Mallory (bass), and Ash Vols (drums)—the group has quickly built a reputation for turning raw intimacy into cathartic, communal release.
Blending garage-rock grit with lush, slow-burning balladry, Blush crafts songs that ache with heartbreak while glowing with tenderness. That duality has resonated: they sold out their debut show at Toronto’s legendary El Mocambo for CJ Wiley’s Big Gay Night, and they’ve already shared the stage with queercore icons Pansy Division. This year, they were spotlighted in Exclaim!’s Class of 2025 showcase, and carried their sound westward to Saskatoon’s Sapphic Saturdays, connecting with queer prairie communities along the way.
At the heart of Blush’s music lies a lyrical vulnerability—stories of love, longing, and queer identity—that transforms each performance into a space where outsiders feel like insiders, and anyone can get swept up in the rush of recognition. Their debut single, “Forget All The Things” (released July 9), marks the beginning of a new chapter, with their first 7-song EP slated for Spring 2026.
