Discover the inspiring and exciting life stories behind some of the people who have shaped British history.
About this Event

From the Tudors to the Suffragettes, meet the extraordinary people who changed history over 400 years.

As we walk through the beautiful National Portrait Gallery, you will see and hear about politicians, monarchs, fighters and scientists.

This tour will introduce you to the characters who have shaped our lives: fighting for the vote, …their religion, their country or just raw power. Not heroes, not villains, many flawed. All with fascinating lives to explore.

We will encounter the man who wiped out smallpox, greedy kings, and meet the reluctant revolutionary who went from weeping child bride to a queen who usurped her father.

The tour includes the famous, the infamours as well as other characters who are fading from historical memory but who deserve to live on in our hearts and minds.

It will be 1 hour 30 minutes of entertainment, insight, emotion and inspiration.

We meet in the reception area of the gallery AFTER the bag check at security. I will be standing in front of the display of busts in the lobby wearing a City of Westminster lanyard.
