2025 - 2026 Theme: Living History
How do you craft an interpretation? Character interpretation, embodying a person of the past, combines the skills of a historian, an actor and a teacher. Join us to learn more about the skills that support interpretive work, including prop making, music and dance.
Workshop 3: Crafting a Character
This session we'll explore object reproduction, acting techniques including music and dance, and learn about various people who are part of Fort Monroe's history.
What We'll Do
- Examine primary sources from Fort Monroe’s history
- Craft object reproductions using a variety of methods including scuplting and 3D printing
- Meet living historians and participate in interactive activities
