About this Event

As Chandler Museum welcomes the traveling exhibit, Aliento a Tequila (or The Spirit of Tequila), we want to share the production effects and environmental challenges that tequila ranchers and producers are facing today.

Desert Botanical Garden’s Dr. Tania Hernández, Research Scientist on New World Succulents, will share her research and knowledge on agave and tequila production. The demand for tequila has risen in the US and with higher demand resource consumption becomes greater and affects the land, the plants, and the culture. Come listen as Dr. Hernández teaches the effects of increased production and the growing environmental challenges of tequila production.
