Sarah Adams, Curator at the Springfield Art Association, will speak about her experience as a Harrison Fellow of the Historic Landscape Institute through the University of Virginia and Jefferson's Monticello. As a beginning gardener herself, Adams will speak to the basics of starting with historic landscaping - using the impeccable gardens at a few sites in Virginia as a jumping off point. Information for this lecture is collected from experiences, lectures, and research into landscaping in the United States.
Experienced gardeners may be interested in a different perspective, and beginning gardeners will use this information to develop a plan for their own gardens. Even non-gardeners will appreciate the history discussed at this talk.
This talk is free and open to the public!
