About This Event
Join us for a day-long guided journey through two of Brazoria County's most historically significant plantation sites. We will meet at the Levi Jordan Plantation west of Brazoria at 9:45 AM for a 10:00 AM guided tour. The tour will give special attention to the enslaved quarters and work sites, which are currently the subject of active archaeological excavation — offering a rare, on-the-ground view of ongoing historical research.
After the tour, our group will drive approximately 20 minutes north to the Varner-Hogg Plantation State Historic Site, where we will enjoy picnic lunches on the grounds followed by self-guided tours of the main house, outbuildings, and surrounding work areas.
Please bring your own picnic lunch for the afternoon portion of the day.
To Register: Contact Sarah Jackson at [email protected]. Please register by May 3rd.
