About this Event

Join Capitol Park Museum’s Curator for our walking tour of the Historic Spanish Town neighborhood. Founded by Spanish Canary Island settlers in 1805, Spanish Town is Baton Rouge’s oldest neighborhood. Hear history brought to life! You will see historic architecture from the 1830s to the 1930s, learn about Louisiana’s role in national history, and discover the events that shaped the neighborhood.

Space is limited and registration is required. Patrons are advised to dress comfortably, bring water, and wear a hat. $20 General ticket, free for members, funds support ongoing programs with the Friends of the Capitol Park Museum. Includes entrance to Capitol Park Museums over 30,000 square feet of exhibitions.
