Join Maine Preservation & Heart of Ellsworth for the final session of a three-part workshop series about Historic Preservation. This session will dive into methods and best practices for making old places new again.
Historic preservation is the pursuit of protecting and stewarding significant sites and places through policy and advocacy at the local, state, and national levels, as well as repair and reuse of individual structures and buildings. This series demonstrates how this effective practice can be applied in Ellsworth, starting with an introduction to the basics of the field, followed by an overview of financing options for rehabilitation projects, and closing with an explanation of best practices for adapting and updating buildings for re-use.

Thank you to the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Hart Family Fund for Small Towns, for supporting these workshops, and to Nate Holyoke Builders for sponsoring them! A shoutout to other program partners who offered additional support: Design Group Collaborative, the City of Ellsworth, and the Ellsworth Historical Society.
