About this Event

Help kick-off Preservation Month with a special program on historic preservation easements to protect heritage buildings and sites. Program Director for the Sarasota Alliance of HIstoric Preservation Erin DiFazio will provide an overview of easements and the Alliance's easement program. Architecture Sarasota President Marty Hylton will share the case of the A. Conger Goodyear House (1939). Designed by architect Edward Durrell Stone, the International Style residence was built to display the modern art collection of Anson Conger Goodyear, Founding Member and first President of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. International non-profit World Monuments Fund saved the house and ensured its preservation in perpetuity through an easement.
