Historic House Tours

Join us at Charlotte's second oldest house! Guided house tours of the 1815 Historic Rosedale house are lead by knowledgeable interpreters. A guided house tour of the 15-room federal-era home examines life during the antebellum era, as well as the architecture and decorative arts in the restored house museum. A look at our African American Legacy Project and current revolving exhibits are also included.
Please allow approximately 15 minutes to park and check in at our Welcome Center. For the courtesy of all guests, guided house tours start on time and last 50-60 minutes. We suggest you also allow 15-30 minutes to see the gardens, grounds, and reconstructed blacksmith shop on your own (some visitors might prefer longer.) If you plan to attend the 1:30pm tour, we recommend you allocate time prior to your tour to visit the grounds.
Advanced tickets are recommended.
Please note: Guided house tour tickets include admission to the grounds, a separate grounds admission fee is not charged.
Guided house tours are given on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and most Saturdays at 11:30 am and 1:30 pm
