Historic City of Churches Tour – Greektown

Back for the 2024 season! Detroit has long been a city of churches, at one time claiming more churches per square mile than any other city in the country. Join us on Friday, July 26th for this specialty tour as we explore inside four of Detroit’s most famous and beautiful churches around Greektown.

This in-depth guided 2.5-hour walking tour will showcase historic churches in the Greektown area including Old St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Christ Church Detroit, Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, St. Peter and Paul Jesuit Church, and Holy Family Catholic Church.

Tours begin at Old St. Mary’s Church at 9:00 AM and 9:30 AM. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your start time for check in and allow 2.5 hours for this tour. Since this is an extensive walking tour, please wear sensible shoes! There will be opportunities to sit, hear brief histories, take pictures, and ask questions at each location.The tour takes place rain or shine.
